Do you offer salting service?

No, unfortunately we do not currently offer this service.

Do you offer rooftop snow removal services?

No, unfortunately we do not currently offer this service.

Do you offer one-time or on-call services?

No, we do not offer any on-call services as we have chosen to focus 100% of our energy and resources on our seasonally-contracted clients instead.

My driveway is gravel. Can you still blow it?

Yes, however you should be aware that some of the gravel on your driveway may get blown onto your lawn. Although our drivers make every effort to be as careful as possible it is impossible to avoid some gravel displacement until the ground freezes and the stones harden into place.

When does your contract begin and end?

November 5th – April 1st

Where do you provide service?

We service East Ottawa including Orleans, Beacon Hill, and Blackburn.

Are you insured?

Yes, every business in the industry is required to carry what is called CGL or Commercial General Liability insurance. Without this a company cannot obtain a snow removal permit from the City of Ottawa. We are insured for $2,000,000.

Is there a minimum snowfall required for service?

Our contracts cover all snowfalls of 5cm or more. Generally, one laneway clearing is scheduled for a snowfall of 10cm or less, and multiple visits if the snowfall is over that amount. However, there are many instances throughout the season in which we have gone out for less than 5cm because it is heavy wet snow and the City plows are out.

Is there a problem if there is a car parked in my driveway?

No, our operators will remove as much snow as possible around your vehicles. Of course, for best results please ensure that all vehicles are removed prior to a snowstorm. If it is necessary to leave a vehicle parked in your driveway ensure that it is as close to the house and side to allow our tractors to clear as much as possible. For the sake of efficiency we do not ask our operators to knock on doors. We now offer a “Call-Back” service that you may ask us to return within 24hrs of the storm once all vehicles have been removed from the driveway.

Do you clear after City plowing?

Yes, as our operators make their first pass after a snowfall they record where the city plow has or has not been. When they finish their first pass they make as many return trips as necessary to clean up after city plows.

The timing of your second pass can vary but it is usually within 6-8 hrs of our first pass. It occasionally can be longer if the city is delayed in cleaning your street. We have increasingly seen the city delay road cleanings until a day later to cut costs. We have a quality control supervisor driving around monitoring what roads haven’t been plowed by the city.
